Name of your shop or service:                   Le Petit Paris

Tell us a bit about your shop or service:

We are a small French bakery, Creperie and Coffee shop. We try to bring a little taste of French cuisine to Bribie. Everything is baked fresh every day and crepes are cooked in front of customers to order with freshly cooked ingredients. Pastries and Breads are all made with French flour following the traditional recipes. Our Coffee Blend is unique and is a mixture of beans from Nicaragua, Colombia and Papua New Guinea.

What’s in season or really popular right now with shoppers?

The Apple sauce and Cinnamon Crepe with a side of whipped cream seems to be quite popular at the moment.

and what’s your favourite thing in-store at the moment?

My favourite item in-store is “Le Parisian baguette” as it reminds me my childhood. It’s a sourdough baguette sandwich made with Dijon mustard, cheese, champagne leg ham, tomatoes and lettuce.

How long have you been working here?

I have been working here for 1 year and 3 months.

Are you a big or small crew - how many of you working there?

We are a small crew, only 2 at a time.

The team is my partner (Amber) and myself. We have two employees which are Al and Eden.

What’s do you reckon is best part of your job?

Getting to meet and build a strong relationship with customers that come in everyday. They become a part of your life in a way because you get to see them on a daily basis.

What are your interests in life? Any hobbies, interests or mad obsessions?

My interests in life are Tennis, Football (soccer) and Poker. I also follow politics as well as general news around the world, to stay informed. I find it really important to have a general knowledge on multiple topics to be able to create a conversation with anyone.

So, do you think your shop or service helps make customers’ lives easier? If so, tell us how:

I don’t know if we could say we make their life easier but we definitely try our best to make them spend a good time and enjoy some good food .

Do you have local customers you know by name, or like to have a chat with?

Yes, I have few customers that I know by name that comes at least 4 times a week. We all make sure we know their orders by heart as it shows we care about them. I give them as much attention and time whenever I can as they really support us since the beginning and keep spreading the word around.

What is the funniest or most unusual request you’ve ever had from a customer? (Keep it clean!)

The most unusual request I had so far was probably a Cappuccino with no coffee, which is basically a Baby Chino but the person ordering was definitely not a kid.

Name two things you like most about working at the centre?

  • Being able to go to the beach after work in summer
  • Being able to share some of my culture through food with people that haven’t had a chance to travel there.

Do you have a fave time of year in the centre and if so why? e.g. celebrations such Christmas, school holidays, a favourite season.

I really liked Christmas as it was quite interesting to meet our regular customers families (grandkids etc..) it made me happy to see them sharing some good time together as I know it can be difficult for some of them during the year to be alone.

Winter is well underway… what are you looking forward to doing/eating/buying?

Watching movies sipping on a hot drink is probably the thing I look forward the most by the end of each day as this year has been really cold so far!
